Ad material submission terms
All ad materials need to be submitted at least one full working day before the beginning of their display. Display banners, expanded banners, video banners and non-standard solutions – at least tress working days before.
If the deadline of ad material submission is missed, TVNET will do everything in their power in order for the ad materials to be displayed as soon as possible. If deadlines are not met, no compensation is granted.
All ad materials (banners, links, codes, ad articles etc.) need to be submitted to e-mail baneri@tvnetgrupa.lv. A confirmation e-mail will be sent in no longer than one working day. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please get in touch with our project manager.
The e-mail should provide detailed information about the campaign, which these materials are meant for. If you have access to the TVNET reservation system, you need to indicate the campaign number and the name of the client. All materials concerning one campaign should be sent in one e-mail.
Technical parameters
TVNET accepts banners in JPG, GIF, PNG or HTML5 format. For video ads (pre-roll / post-roll) and video banners – MP4 format.

* These banners are not accepted in the script banner form. Use of script banners in these formats is seen as a non-standard solution and should be agreed upon beforehand.
Processor load: The advertising solution must not load more than 20% on average and 60% of the maximum CPU of a standard computer.
The banner should be made in such a way that indicated it being an ad. If white coloring is used in the background of the banner, a border needs to be incorporated that sets the area of the banner. In HTML and GIF banners, this requirement needs to be respected in all frames.
Video banners
Video banners need to respect all of the above mentioned terms and conditions, excluding the article applying to external data requirements. If a banner with video content is ordered, it is allowed to download an additional file from TVNET server. Data from other servers is not allowed.
The maximum weight of an additional file is 3 MB. The additional file needs to be submitted in a MP4 format. Before the preparation of a banner, the video file needs to be submitted to e-mail baneri@tvnetgrupa.lv. It will be uploaded on TVNET server and a unique link will be assigned to it. This link needs to be incorporated in the HTML5 banner. The weight of the banner cannot exceed the maximum weights allowed for the chosen position.
In addition to MP4 video a JPG image is required. This image will be shown while the video is loaded or if an error has occured while loading. Video should be same size as banner. If ratio is different, there will be black spaces on both sides.
Pre-roll / Post-roll / Mid-roll ads
TVNET video ad resolution is 640x360px
640x360px H.264 1000kb/s profile: baseline,level: 3.0
Audio: AAC 64kb/s, 32000 vai 41000 MONO (if the material is not stereo)
if AAC is not possible, MP3 is allowed as well
Format of video files – MP4
Pre-roll/Mid-roll/Post-roll banners have the option to skip the advert after 20 seconds.
Sound
If sound effects are used in ad material, they should be silent by default. The banner needs to have a button that turns the sound on/off. Sound effects can be played only after the user has activated them by pushing the sound button.
Pre-roll / post-roll / mid-roll ads need to submit a standard MP4 video file with sound.
HTTPS compatibility
TVNET and Apollo websites are created in HTTPS environment. Thus, banners, as well as serving and tracking codes that are used in the websites, need to be compatible with HTTPS. The easiest way to do that – make a banner without external resources – a banner that will be displayed correctly without an internet connection. If the banner still needs to be served as a scrip, external resources need to be loaded or third-party tracking codes need to be added, you need to make sure that all elements are compatible with HTTPS.
Banner codes
Third-party banner serving codes cannot be used in the following formats: background, expanded banners, pagebreak, slidingrow, gallery banner, pre-roll / post-roll / mid-roll ad. Serving and tracking codes cannot hinder the loading of the website. In cases when the loading of the website is hindered, the campaign is stopped and the unrealized exposition is not compensated. It is not allowed to use codes that store data about the website’s users habits, actions and other personal information without the approval of TVNET.
URL and click tracking
The URL that opens the advertised website needs to be related only to the website of the ad campaign and it needs to contain Latin letters only. After a click on the banner, the website needs to open in a new window.
TVNET provides the tracking of campaign clicks if ad materials are prepared according to the technical specification. HTML5 banners need to respect clickTAG and link adding requirements.
Click tracking is not provided for served or interactive banners. In these cases, if the statistics are needed, it needs to be coordinated with the project manager first and the click tracking needs to be tested.
HTML5 specification
A folder that has been archived in a ZIP file, needs to contain one index.html file – it will be recognized as the main file of this banner.
References to any additional files need to be indicated in an index.html file – use of external resources is not allowed and therefore the banner need to be properly displayed even without an internet connection. This term has following exceptions:
https://fonts.googleapis.com/ https://p.typekit.net/ https://use.edgefonts.net/ https://fonts.gstatic.com/ https://ajax.googleapis.com/ https://animate.adobe.com/ |
https://ls.hit.gemius.pl/ https://gdelv.hit.gemius.pl/ https://www.gstatic.com/ https://s0.2mdn.net/ https://code.createjs.com/ |
In needs to be noted that external (web) fonts need to be named correctly – only the subsets of needed characters need to be used, not whole libraries.
In order to make a click in our system, the banner needs to contain clickTag and an additional link with an instruction.
If the banner is interactive (various links, mouse-over functions etc.) it needs to be indicated when ordering the banner.
Example of clickTag inserting:
It is important that the link is written as a variable click tag, for example.: var clickTag = "http://tvnet.lv";

Recommendations for banner optimization
We use the standards recommended by the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) for banner optimization requirements
More information can be found here.
Minify the HTML, CSS and Javascript code: To reduce the weight of files, code minifiers and compilers will delete those characters (e.g. spaces) that are required for people to understand the code, but are not needed for the code to work.
Compress visuals: Many graphic design tools offer many possibilities to balance the quality and weight of a file. Use PNG crushers and other image compression tools. If one adaptive html banner will be used for many banner sizes, then for visuals you can use the SVG (Scaleable Vector Graphics) format, that will display the banner in any size while not losing the quality.
Use text whenever possible: Company logo, names and other visuals need to be presented as images, while for text display it is advised to use HTML code when using fonts.
Reduce the number of files: Any file that is opened, asks for a new browser connection that reduces the performance of the browser, which leads to longer loading time. In order to reduce the number of files, try to combine various small images in a sprite sheet. As well, use inline record when designing the code, assigning a different style to each html element separately. If possible, use the before mentioned code compilers that can make one code file from many different (JS, CSS, HTML, etc.)
